This week at school the children:
- wrote about last week's swimming experience - participated in a drawing and painting session instructed by Teacher's Pet (you will see your child's creation this weekend) - learned about Jay's talents and favorite hobbies and wrote a special message for Jay's Star Student book. Jay chose Isla to be next week's Star Student - practiced and participated in a final rehearsal for next week's production of "Rideau in Revue" - read with their Grade 4 Buddies - listened and viewed several stories about "mothers" and shared how much they love their moms and appreciate everything their moms do for them! Their homework for the weekend is to be extra special sweet to their moms on Sunday and make sure that you all have a very Happy Mother's Day! Important Reminders/Dates: Please have your child continue to practice his/her sight words and complete daily home reading. I understand that everyone is busy with spring activities, but it is very important for your child to continue practicing and developing his/her literacy skills. The word of the week was "by". (We talked about the difference between by, bye and buy) May 14 & 15 - Production of "Rideau in Revue". Please drop your child off at the classroom between 6 -6:15 p.m., dressed in his/her Christmas attire May 17 - Professional Development Day - No School for Students May 20 - Victoria Day - No School May 31 - Kindergarten Field Trip to Butterfield Acres - Please return consent forms ASAP June 3 - 2:15-3:15 - Volunteer Tea - please refer to info below June 18 - Elementary Sports Day 9:05 - 11:50 June 25 - Kindergarten Celebration 10:45 -11:50 Last day of school for Kindergarten students Rideau Park Volunteer TeaWe are so grateful for the many volunteer hours that our Rideau community give to support our school. We would like to celebrate you and show our appreciation. Please join us on Monday afternoon for treats and performances. Bring a friend and celebrate VOLUNTEERING at Rideau.
